Accra, June 8, GNA – Association of people who believe in the policies and programmes of President John Evans Atta Mills and Vice President John Dramani Mahama was launched in Accra on Wednesday.

The Association known as “John and John 2012” aims at mobilising support to ensure total victory for President Mills and Vice President Mahama in the 2012 election.

The Association also seeks to get President Mills endorsed as the flag bearer and Vice President Mahama retained as running mate for election 2012.

Launching the Association, Nii Sakum Korley, Communication Director, explained that the group adopted the name “John and John 2012” because the two were simple and respectful and never attacked any political party.

“Today, seeing the impressive performance of the President John Mills and… Vice (President) John Mahama and their human centred nature, which are the envy of all across the world, the group has registered the name John and John to mobilise support for them,” he said.

Nii Korley said the group had adopted a strategy to explain the government’s policies to the youth in all the constituencies and districts to encourage them to vote for the President.

He said they would ensure unity among members of the grassroots and floating voters to ensure a massive victory for President Mills in 2012 election.

Nii Korley added that the group would also educate all political parties to desist from insults, unfounded allegations and acrimony.

He called for peace and tranquillity in Ghana and within the National Democratic Congress to enable the President to continue and fully deliver the Better Ghana Agenda.

“John and John 2012” currently covers all the 10 regions to work actively in the communities to ensure that President Mills’ visions are propagated and executed.
