Gambia: Swimming Tourney Set for June 11th

Gambia Swimming and Aquatic Sports Association will kick-off a first time swimming championship set for June 11th.

The competition according to the release ranges from both men and women with a distance and style with a 25m, 50m, 100m and 4X 25m to be covered.

The swimming association established February 11th this year, has the objective of developing the pool game and to bring together swimmers to demonstrate swimming skills, as the body looks to scout the best from the stock of competing participants to represent the Gambia in the forthcoming 14th FINA World Championship in Shanghai from the 16th July-1st August 2011, ‘All Africa Games’ in September and the Olympics in 2012.

The competition according to a release dispatched to Foroyaa Sport is open to all and sundry. The tournament takes place at the SBEC International High School, Salageh, and Tank Tanka psychiatrics Hospital Highway.
