Concord Times (Freetown) Ishmael Bayoh 7 June 2011 Freetown — Chairperson of the tribunal set up by the Human Rights Commission of Sierra Leone to investigate complaints made by some ex-military personnel against the military and ministry of Defence yesterday stated that the committee may take strong action against the Accountant General (AG), who has blatantly disregarded a subpoena letter, ordering his appearance before the hearing. The HRC-SL is conducting a public hearing at the YWCA new hall on complaints of 235 chronically ill and mentally imbalanced ex-soldiers made against the ministry of Defence and the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces. Hinting at possible action the commission might take against the Accountant General, Kebbe A.

Freetown — Award-winning philanthropist and popular businessman, Nasser Ayoub, has commended the minister of Youth Employment and Sports following the national team’s victory over the Mena Stars of Niger last weekend at the National Stadium in Freetown.

The former vice chairman of East-End Lions FC said he was very pleased with the organization of the football match by the Sports minister and his team of dedicated staff. “I want to commend Mr. Paul Kamara and his team for the professional manner in which the match between Leone Stars and Niger was organized. I think we are moving forward also in the area of sports,” Ayoub said.

He furthered that “everything was well organized, the stadium was very clean and security was not an issue and most importantly we won the match. The Sports ministry did a very good job”.

Ayoub further voiced his hope that the ministry continues with this standard, while encouraging the YES minister Paul Kamara to ensure that the canteen and bathrooms were opened for the Leone Stars’ next international encounters.
