MMD national youth Chairperson Moses Muteteka has welcomed the decision by former Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) acting director Muhabi Lungu to join the ruling party and has since asked youths countrywide to campaign for President Rupiah Banda ahead of this year’s elections.

Mr Muteteka, who is Local Government and Housing Deputy Minister, said in Lusaka yesterday that youths should emulate Mr Lungu and join the ruling party to campaign for Mr Banda.

“I welcome the decision Mr Lungu has taken and he is welcome to work with me to ensure that no stone is left unattended to politically.

” I would wish to extend an appeal to all youth groups to join the MMD and campaign for Mr Banda in this year’s election,” he said.

Mr Muteteka said President Banda had demonstrated that he was a good and humble leader in the last two years he has been president.

He said in appreciating his good works the youths of Zambia should support Mr Banda ahead of this year’s elections.

Mr Muteteka said those that would vote for the opposition would be wasting their vote as they would not add value to the governance system of Zambia.

And the Christian Coalition has commended Mr Lungu for showing support for Mr Banda.

And Christian Coalition Spokesperson John Mwendapole said in Lusaka that youths should emulate Mr Lungu’s stance to openly support Mr Banda.

He said Mr Banda was a caring father of the nation who had ensured that several jobs were created for the youths in Zambia.

Mr Mwendapole said the recently launched Japanese company Hi-tachi would create jobs for more youths in Zambia.

Meanwhile, Forum for Leadership Search Zambia (FLSZ) executive director Edwin Lifwekelo has said Zambians were happy with the development projects that were being done by Mr Banda and would not support the opposition in this year’s elections.

He urged the youths to support Mr Banda because he had shown that he cared for their plight.

Mr Lifwekelo commended the MMD’s adoption process for parliamentary candidates and called on other political parties to review adoption of candidates seeking to be elected to Parliament and local government.
