Wigan Athletic’s in-demand winger Charles N’Zogbia has been valued at £12 million by the club and offered to the elite of Europe, according to The Sun.
The report claims the asking price will be slashed from to £9m if the club bidding for the player will be playing in the Champions League next season.
The France international has made no secret of his ambition to compete at the highest level, and the club have potentially granted this wish by making him available to a team competing in the Champions League.
Wigan manager Roberto Martinez is reluctant to sell to clubs who are not in Europe’s top club competition, hindering interest from clubs such as Sunderland, Newcastle United and Liverpool.
Martinez said: “If a club comes in who are not in the Champions League, I’d say no. We don’t need to sell.”
The player has been in fine form this season, playing a major part in the club retaining their place in the Premier League and attracting interest from all over Europe.
The club have been resigned to selling their best players in the past seasons after they lost Antonio Valencia and Wilson Palacios after both of the players wanted to play at a higher level.
