A number of the 2010 Spelling Bee contestants recently did voluntary work as part of this year’s International Day of Service.

Every year, the United Nations (UN) celebrates May 7 as the International Day of Service.

Dubbed the ‘spirit of Voluntarism’, the contestants visited the St Grant’s Blessed Assurance School, a deprived school near Manet Court, off the Spintex Road in Accra to interact with and help pupils in the school to read and draw.
