Benguela — The district of Chongoroi, in the centre-west Benguela Province, will gain this week a water abstraction system of 20 cubic metres per second, in the ambit of the governmental programme known as “Water for All”, ANGOP has learnt.
Made up by ten water boreholes to supply to the citizens in Chongoroi District, the system of abstraction, treatment and supply of water will work through solar mechanism.
Speaking to ANGOP, the administrator of Chongoroi, Francisco Miguel, considered the system as important, because it will improve the living conditions of the citizens and decrease the illnesses caused by consumption of inappropriate water.
The system was presented to the local authorities during the visit of a delegation from the Executive Commission Secretariat of the ruling MPLA party in Benguela, led by the provincial secretary for political and economic matters, Victor Moita.
Chongoroi District has a population estimated at 122,868 inhabitants.
