Blackburn striker El Hadji Diouf admits that he would happily play Championship football to be reunited with Sam Allardyce at West Ham.

The 30-year-old is due to return from a loan spell at Rangers but Steve Kean, the Blackburn manager, has signalled that the Senegal striker may struggle to cement a first team place back at Ewood Park.

Diouf has been managed by Allardyce twice in his career – at Blackburn as well as his stint at Bolton – and would love to be reunited with his former boss.

He who has one year remaining on his contract, and told Sky Sports News: “I have finished my loan so I am expecting to return to England with Blackburn.

“I am 30 years old, I want to play week in, week out these days.

“Working with Sam? That would be a fantastic thing to do. Sam is a fantastic manager and very good man. I would be delighted to work under him again.”
