Newcastle United target Kevin Gameiro has yet to decide on whether he will join the Magpies from French side Lorient after the Tyneside club tabled an offer for the striker.

Gameiro has also been the subject of a transfer bid from Paris Saint-Germain and an unnamed Spanish club, but he has yet to make his mind up.

The 24-year-old will mull over the options available to him before committing his future to any one club, and is quoted by The Northern Echo as saying: “I will decide on my future in one or two weeks.

“I already have an idea. I very much like Spain, but other clubs are following me.”

Gameiro joined Lorient from Strasbourg in 2008 and has played over 100 games for the club.

Newcastle have already agreed a fee with Lorient and Gameiro has expressed a desire to ensure first-team football at his next club.

“I will not go to a team where I’ll be on the bench all year,” he said. “I want to play and it will be up to me to seize my chance.”

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew has already agreed one transfer this summer with Yohan Cabaye joining from Lille.
