Five hundred and thirty seven students recently graduated from Nusrat Senior Secondary School (NSSS) at a ceremony held at the school grounds.
Delivering a speech at the occasion, Omar Jammeh, a staff of the school stated that in its 40 years of existence, Nusrat SSS has recorded numerous achievements in both academic and social activities. He described the outside world, which the graduants are about to venture into, as a complex and conflicting one which needs maturity. He added: “In society, you should look for avenues to display your maturity within this life span; you derive status, prestige, affection, social membership and above all supports; knowledge and experience gained from your relationship with the people will be useful as you establish yourself in this complex, corrupt and harsh society.”
For his part, Paul Grand Addae, the guest speaker at the occasion congratulated the graduants and offered words of wisdom. He told the graduants that discipline, sacrifice determination and curiosity will enable them to separate facts from the truth. Addae added that decisions have to be initiated and implemented by individuals with a lot of factors, and people will have to influence them in making such decisions.
Lamin Jallow, the outgoing head boy congratulated his fellow graduants, and urged them to keep up the momentum.
