The producer of one of the two movies seized by security operatives over the weekend has admitted that the movie “Oh Uncle Atta” did not go through the censorship process. According to the producer, Kofi Asamoah, when the security operatives visited the Opera square over the weekend, the movie being packaged for sale was the “Atta Mortuary Man” movie and not the “Oh Uncle Atta” movie because that movie had not been cleared to go on sale

BENIN-THERE are indications that the Edo State Independent National Electoral Commission, EDSIEC, will be conducting elections in the 18 local government councils of the state in August 2011.

Governor Adams Oshiomhole of the state had in an interview with Vanguard, disclosed that the elections would hold after the swearing-in ceremony but did not give a specific date, following what he described as the need for all tiers of government to be inaugurated after the general elections.

Vanguard however learnt that the EDSIEC had commenced preparations with a view to holding the election in August. Meanwhile, the former Deputy Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Mr Omo Ezomo, has declared his interest to run for the chairmanship of the Owan West Local Government Council of the state, saying that he will deplore his experience as a seasoned lawmaker to move the council forward.
