A UN atomic watchdog team on a visit to Japan said the country underestimated the hazard posed by tsunamis to nuclear plants. "The tsunami hazard for several sites was underestimated," the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said in a preliminary report on Wednesday.

Samuel Sarpong, Chief Executive of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), is in trouble; his offices would next Monday be crowded by angry market women from the Kejetia Market – who reports say would be stripping in protest against him over allegations that the has developed a hatred for successful women in the metropolis.

Information reaching The Publisher newspaper says the market women have already made transport arrangements and would be bused to the KMA office by 12 noon. A source among them say they would be dressed in their normal clothing but once they get to the KMA compound, would start raising up their clothes to register their disdain and utter annoyance with the KMA Boss.

They have reportedly organized a few radio stations and newspaper reporters to cover the event. “Why should we seek police permission so that they would find reasons of stopping us? We would go and show him that he came from the under parts of a woman so he should respect women and stop sabotaging their efforts at looking for their daily bread”, one of the market women, who gave her name as Ama Amponsah, told The Publisher.

Monday’s ‘striptease’ demonstrations, reports say, would be followed by a series of court writs filed against the Kumasi mayor by several women who suspect he is sabotaging their business efforts within the metropolis.

Already, a Kumasi based business women, Freda Darko, has sued the KMA boss over what she claims are a calculated attempt to abrogate a five year contract she had with the Assembly. A source at the KMA hinted The Publisher that though Madam Freda Darko has a valid contract with the KMA for her company, Freko F.D. Enterprise Limited, to ensure sanity and security at the Kumasi Kejetia Terminal, Samuel Sarpong is working at getting the Assembly to nullify her contract.

“He claims that the contract did not pass through due procedure but it is just not true. That particular contract went through all the due processed and our own KMA Appraisal reports shows that the company is on top of its job and we would only be making a mockery of ourselves if we do anything funny,” the source noted. He showed The Publisher a copy of the court writ filed by Madam Freda Darko against the KMA boss.

It was filed on the 19th of May at a Kumasi High Court and was among other requests praying the courts to restrain the KMA boss from abrogating the company’s contract. “He just does not care, there are some five hundred persons working for that company alone and he has no idea the extent of hatred he is creating for the Assembly and by the time the other women start filing their writs, it would be too heavy for him to bear,” our source noted.
