Adisadel Homosexual Maths Tutor Arrested; Wife Weeps Uncontrollably

The Member of Parliament for Lower Manya Krobo, Michael Teye Nyaunu has described as unfortunate a planned demonstration that hit him yesterday by members of his constituency.

The wife of the mathematics tutor of Adisadel College, in Cape Coast, who allegedly sodomized six students of the school, wept uncontrollably at the offices of the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU), on Tuesday.

Richard Atta Panyin, the tutor, was arrested last Monday night
and detained by the Central Regional Police, following a formal
complaint by Mr Herbert Kwesi Kumfi Graham, Headmaster of the College,
on Monday.

His grief stricken wife, together with the head pastor of the
Maranatha Assemblies of God church, where he (Panyin) is the General
Secretary, pleaded with reporters at the police station, to quash the
story.

The Regional coordinator of the DOVVSU, ASP George Appiah Sakyi
told the GNA on Tuesday that, the report made by the headmaster was at
his instance and added that the alleged victims would be invited by
his outfit for their statement.

The Central Regional Police Commander DCOP Andoh Kwofie told
reporters later that investigations were underway and that he will be
processed for court within 48 hours.
