Wolverhampton Wanderers are to offer Jody Craddock a new deal to prolong his stay with the club.
The veteran defender was first choice at the start of the season before suffering an injury, however, he did return to the fold to help Mick McCarthy’s men retain their Premier League status for another year.
“We will be offering Jody a contract,” McCarthy told the club’s official site. “He came back in to great effect and I think his experience was vital at the end of the season.”
He continued: “When he did get fit again we were having a good spell but all along I knew I could put him back in when I needed to and he responded really well.”
Craddock has made 234 appearances for Wolves so far in his career, scoring 17 goals in the process, and chief executive Jez Moxey has reiterated that the 35-year-old deserves a new contract.
“Given what Jody has done this past year, he is worth a new deal,” said Jez.
“He brings more to the club than what we see out on the pitch as well with his leadership and his professionalism and stability. He is everything Wolves are about these days .
