The National Democratic Congress says it will not be surprised if New Patriotic Party flagbearer for the 2012 elections, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, turns round to commend President John Atta Mills for his role in the Ivorian crisis, after previously lambasting him. Both UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon, and newly installed Ivorian President, Allassane Ouattara have commended President Mills for his contribution towards bringing peace to the Western neighbour after election-related disputes degenerated into violence and claimed thousands of lives.

The people of Ada have seen massive infrastructural development in the first two years of President Mills-led National Democratic Congress (NDC) Government, Dangme East District Chief Executive (DCE) has said.

Mr Rex David Wussah, the DCE, said for that reason, the chiefs
and people of Ada Traditional Area, were earnestly preparing to give
President John Evans Atta Mills a historic welcome to the area as part
of his nationwide tour.

The DCE, who announced this when he addressed a gathering after a
cleanup exercise at Ada-Foah on Monday said: “Euphoric, heroic and
historic welcome awaits President Mills.”

Mr Wussah mentioned some of the infrastructural developments as
the Ada Sea Defence project to protect the Songhor Lagoon from
destruction, the Ada Technical Institute project, rural
electrification projects among many other projects.

The DCE said the people would give the President a befitting
welcome to encourage him to continue with his good works for the
benefit of all Ghanaians, adding that the time for the President’s
visit was yet to be announced.
