MORE than two weeks after former Namib Woestyn soccer player Laurentius Daito Hagedorn vanished without a trace, his family is still searching for him.
Hagedorn disappeared from the house of his son, Mario Hagedorn, in Cimbebasia’s Shilunga Street in Windhoek on May 9.
According to Mario Hagedorn, he last saw his 62-year-old father, who hails from Walvis Bay, that Monday evening. “I spoke to him but went to a meeting and only came back later when I assumed he was sleeping already.”
Mario Hagedorn said he took his wife to the airport early the next morning.
“We didn’t make any noise as we assumed everyone was still asleep. When I came back [from the airport] I asked my children where my father was and they said they thought he had accompanied me.”
Earlier Mario Hagedorn said: “My father was not a sickly person or mentally disturbed.”
Mario Hagedorn said they searched “all the mountains behind Cimbebasia as well as the hospitals, the Police and the morgues”.
He said “it makes absolutely no sense” how his father could “just disappear like that”.
Yesterday he said they have not found their father but are not giving up hope.
Laurentius Hagedorn was last seen wearing blue denim shorts, a blue soccer T-shirt, a black tracksuit jacket and a black leather jacket. He is Damara-Nama speaking and is about 1,85 m tall.
