Tottenham defender William Gallas has called for his side to show greater consistency next season as speculation manager Harry Redknapp may be tempted by Chelsea continues.

Spurs were valiant in the Champions League last term, reaching the last eight, but failed to qualify for the competition for next term after finishing fifth in the Premier League.

Gallas, though, believes the squad has what it takes to win silverware and compete at the top as long as the right pieces remain in place.

“This team can win a trophy, I’m certain of that, but we have to learn from our experiences,” the Frenchman told Sky Sports.

“Maybe we haven’t been as consistent as we should be and that’s got to change.

“If we want to qualify for the Champions League, if we want to win the Premier League then we have to be relentless.

“I’ve been fortunate to have won trophies and I know what it takes.

“You have to go out there, raise yourself for every game, and be prepared to suffer just to make sure you get the three points.”
