The National Judicial Council, NJC, yesterday, ordered an immediate sack of Justice Musa Ibrahim Anka, of the Zamfara state High Court from office, saying he was found guilty of bribery and corruption.

The judicial body in a release,  in Abuja, said the council after a meeting on May 26, found that the embattled Judge received bribe from one Zubairu Abdulmalik in order to deliver judgment in his favour.

According to the release by the deputy director of information at the NJC, Mr Soji Oye, “the National Judicial Council has recommended the removal of Hon. Justice Musa Ibrahim Anka of the Zamfara State High Court from office.”

“It would be recalled that he was suspended by the council in July 2010, following a petition written against him by Zamfara State Director of State Security Service, SSS, alleging that he received bribe from one Zubairu Abdulmalik in order to deliver judgment in his favour.

“The council during its meeting which held on  May 26, 2011, found Hon. Justice Musa Ibrahim Anka guilty of the allegations of corruption and gratification.

“Thus, in the exercise of its powers under the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Council decided to recommend his removal from office as a judicial officer to the Executive Governor of Zamfara State”.
