Manchester City captain Carloz Tevez has rejected a deal which includes a £20million-per-year salary from Juventus to stay at Eastlands, according to reports.
According to the Daily Mail, the offer was made by the Italian club after they played Manchester United for Gary Neville’s testimonial, but it is believed Tevez’ representatives declined the proposal.
“We’ve built a solid base, now we’re going to put some big players in the team to return as a great club in Europe. All the players we’ve talked to would be glad to join Juventus. It means the club didn’t lose its appeal,” said Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta.
The Argentine has been linked with a move away from Roberto Mancini’s side recently, although the Italian is adamant the striker will be staying at the club this summer.
Tevez was joint-top scorer in the Premier League this season with 20 goals, and helped his side finish above Arsenal in third place.
