Former Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that he is keen to stay in England, and denied that he has had any contact with Roma.

The former AC Milan coach was relieved of his duties at Stamford Bridge last week, and although rumours of a return to Italy continue to circulate, Ancelotti would prefer to stay abroad, while stating that he has not been in contact with the capital giants.

“I would really like to stay in England. I have not been in touch with anyone from Roma. Plus I have yet to resolve my contract with Chelsea. My intention is to stay in England, though,” Ancelotti said to Sky Sport 24.

“I have had two great years here. I feel very well in England and want to stay put. I am in no hurry to find a new club. I have only had a small break since 1995. I have always worked hard. This is a chance to relax for a bit and see new things and challenges.”

In addition to links to Roma, Ancelotti is reportedly one of the candidates to take over at newly promoted Queens Park Rangers.

The Loftus Road outfit are thought to be looking to replace current manager Neil Warnock with a high profile name, and Ancelotti is one of the managers who are in the frame for the job.
