Cplp Environment Ministers Inaugurate First International Technological Fair

Luanda — Portuguese Speaking Community (CPLP) Environment ministers Thursday in Luanda inaugurated the first International Fair on Environment, Services, Equipment and Environmental Technologies meant for the promotion of a greener Angolan economy.

During the inauguration, the ministers of Angola, Cape Verde, Portugal and São Tome and Principe, expressed satisfaction with Angolan Government’s initiative in hosting the event that has brought together 102 exhibitors, 70 of them locals.

The CPLP Environment ministers and their representatives attended the first High Level Meeting on Wastes, held from May 24-25 in Luanda, to share experiences in management.

Speaking to Angop, the minister of Environment of Portugal, Dulce Pássaro, praised the initiative, saying the use of technologies might contribute to the defence of the planet earth and sustainable development.

She considered this as an indication of Angolan Government’s dynamics, saying environment is a field for prospective business of various nature.

With the fair, Angola is investing in environmental technologies and moving towards bringing together local and foreign specialists and business partners.

Exhibitors from Portugal, Brazil, China, Denmark, South Africa, Nigeria, Spain, France, Germany and US are attending the event going until Sunday.

Angola is attending with 70 exhibitors representing such companies as Sonangol, Total, Unitel, Endiama, Taag, Unitel and others.
