One Wuyeh Keita, a native of Mariama Kunda, in Kombo North, was recently arraigned and charged with defilement of an under-age girl, contrary to Section 127 of the Criminal Code, Laws of The Gambia, before Magistrate Hilary Abeke of the Brikama Magistrates Court.
The particulars of the offence stated that the accused, sometime in the year 2010 in Mariama Kunda, Kombo North of the West Coast Region, defiled an under-age girl (name withheld) by having a carnal knowledge of her, thereby committed an offence.
When the charge sheet was read to the accused person, he pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of D50, 000 with two Gambian sureties.
The case was adjourned to 13th of June 2011.
