New Democrat (Monrovia) 24 May 2011 More controversy is brewing over claims that the Government has placed millions of dollars in the hands of a Ghanaian garbage collector because competent and reliable Liberians are lacking to implement the World Bank project. The multi-million project, designed to rid Monrovia of huge heaps of garbage, is administered by the Monrovia City Hall, with a Ghanaian, Mr. Peter Ofori, hired as a World Bank expert, to oversee the project.

The case of Dr. Isatou Touray and Amie Bojang Sissoho of GAMCOTRAP, on Friday 20th May, failed to proceed at the Banjul Magistrates’ court.

Lawyer Ebrima Jah who normally appeared with Amie Bensouda alongside with Lamin K Mboge in this case told reporters that the matter is adjourned to Thursday 2nd June for the prosecution to reply on the “no case to answer” submission filed by the defence. The adoption of brief for both parties is expected to take place on the next adjourned date.

This is the second time that the matter is being adjourned since the defence applied to make a “no case to answer” submission to answer on behalf of the accused persons.

Readers could recall that Dr. Isatou Touray and Amie Bojang Sissoho are alleged of stealing thirty thousand euro from Yolocamba Solidaridad, they denied the charge preferred against them.
