Mustapha Toubabo Jarju got on the score sheet for Mons against Beveren in the play-off, as the quest for a promotion to the first division heats up.

Jarju and Mons are in a nervy moment to get back to the Belgian top tier after getting relegated to second division since in 2008.

In a dramatic encounter that witnessed five goals scored, Mons have only themselves to blame for failing to win against fellow promotion chasing Beveren, which could have grant ed them an automatic spot to the first division. But after Jarju’s side lost on a 3-2 score line, Mons have their hopes stocked on an edgy end, with Thursday’s encounter to decide their fate.

Jarju have missed top flight football since signing with Mons in 2008 where he notched in five goals before they drop to the second division a year later.

A win on Saturday will see secure a first division status. Toubabo is currently his club highest goal scorer and third in the league with eighteen goals to his name.
