Danso wasn’t on the score sheet on the weekend but was crucial as Timbers march on to yet another breathtaking victory.

Danos’s Timbers march on with five wins in ten games, drawing just thrice since the start of the season, and continue to get points in what promise to be a good season.

Danso who have had two goals in a row was not on the score sheet but was a part in the team that brush off Crew at home.

Barely 30 seconds after the break, forward player Jorge Perlaza dropped a free kick to midfielder Kalif Alhassan inside the box. The Ghanaian then lofted a nifty pass across the goalmouth to Brunner, who sent the ball to the back of the net for the Timbers’ sixth goal off a set piece this season.

The best opportunity for Columbus came in the 42nd minute, when Heinemann directed a diving header at the end of a long pass. Portland goalkeeper Troy Perkins was able to nudge just past the goalpost for the save.

Columbus just missed an excellent chance to equalize in the 87th minute when a left-footed shot attempt by midfielder Robbie Rogers glanced off the goalpost.

Danso will not be part of Timber’s game against Chivas U.SA as he is expected to join Paul Put’s side set to conduct a friendly test game against Nations Cup joint-host Gabon

Mansally was on the bench, while Sainey Nyassi came on a substitute in Revolution’s defeat to Omar Jasseh’s Earthquake. Champions Rapids of Sanna Nyassi and Macoumba Kandji will take on Toronto today, Monday.
