Two men, Chinedu Ugwu and Ogbonna Nwobodo were on Monday sentenced to six months imprisonment each by an Abuja Senior Magistrate Court for selling adulterated insecticide.

Senior Magistrate Ahmed Shuaibu however gave them fine options of N6,000 each.

Prosecuting police officer, Oyewuse Abiola, had told the court that Ugwu of Mopol junction, Nyanya and Nwobodo of Garki market, were arrested with three cartons of adulterated Baygon insecticides products.

He said that their arrest were prompted by a complaint made by Baygon’s Sales and Marketing  General Manager, Mr A. Abdullahi, adding  that they committed an offence punishable under Section 189 of the Penal Code.

The accused persons pleaded guilty to the charge and begged for leniency.
