Assab — Celebrations marking the 20th anniversary of Independence Day are underway with added vigor in Southern Red Sea region as of May 13.
Various programs, including general knowledge contest, fashion show, cultural and sports activities were conducted to add color to the celebrations.
Eritrean mothers from Switzerland lauded the progress being made in development endeavors through rebuffing acts of hostility. The residents of Assab town said on their part that Eritrea has managed to be a strong and dynamic nation within the past 20 years.
The Independence Day celebrations in the region would continue until May 26, according to the holidays coordinating committee.
