Chelsea forward Salomon Kalou has wished his former manager Carlo Ancelotti luck in finding a new club and backed him to bounce straight back.

The Italian tactician was sacked shortly after the final league match of the season on Sunday, but Kalou admits the players will always respect their former boss.

“The players respect him and love him for what he did for the club,” he told The Sun.

“We wish for Carlo to have a good time wherever he’s going.

“We all know he’s a good manager and is going to bounce back.”

Chelsea’s search for a new manager has seen them linked with a host of names including the Dutch pair Guus Hiddink and Marco van Basten, as well as Porto coach Andre Villas-Boas.
