Vale Do Lobo — The Angolan international player Gilberto, with Belgium’s first division Lierse, said on Vale do Lobo, Portugal, the return of many players from abroad to the national championship is hindering the progress of various talents, ANGOP has learnt.
He said that for this reason many teams that provided players to the national squad are not doing it any more, as the teams are made up by many players that played in Europe, some of them with an advanced age.
“We have to see what kind of players are returning to Angola. Returning only for the sake of it is no good. We have to do something to support the national championship. In the contrary, in Luanda many players may be of a higher quality lacking only the opportunities”, he highlighted.
In his opinion, although he is actually in favour of this return, the teams must sign players that can be of added value and capable to represent the national squad, mainly those ones of younger age.
