May 02, 2011 Cape Coast, May 2, GNA – The Central Regional Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Ato Amoah, has called for calm within the party. “We the youth in the Central Region appeal to all members of the party engulfed in the impasse to bury the hatchet for peace to prevail,” Mr Amoah pleaded. Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Cape Coast at the weekend, Mr Amoah said the youth were disturbed about the recent events in NDC and urged those involved to do what was right in order not to destroy the party, which is a legacy for the youth.

Hannah Bissiw is deputy Works and Housing Minister

Deputy Works and Housing Minister Dr Hannah Bissiw has promised to help newly promoted Bechem FC refurbish their home ground for Premier League football.

The Bechem Sports Stadium needs massive renovation works to be ready to host clubs in the top flight league.

Bissiw, a football enthusiast, donated US$ 5,000 to the team for their historic achievement.

The Minister of State told Dinpa FM:”Football is now the passion of the nation and am proud we also have a premier club in our area.

“I was regularly at the stadium to cheer the team up and I believe it’s an honour done our community.”

She added: “I have been in contact with the officials of the club and I have promised to use my medium to secure deals and sponsorships to renovate our Stadium at Bechem and use that as our home grounds, I will watch most of our home games there when the league starts.”
