Algarve — The Angolan midfielder Gilberto Sunday joined the national team of football for a training programme taking place in Vale do Lobo, Portugal, thus rising to six the number of internationals working since May 18 under coach Lito Vidigal.

The arrival of champion of the African U-20 was delayed by Thursday’s match between his team, Lierse of Belgium and Mechelen, which marked the closing of the Belgian first league championship.

Other players expected Sunday to join the national team are Dédé, Zuela, Kivuvu, Titi Buengo, André Makanga and Manucho, whose teams are playing Sunday to close their respective championship.

The team is engaged in a seven-day training programme in Portugal only with athletes playing overseas.

The national squad is expected back in Luanda on May 28 to play Kenya on June 5.
