Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has denied speculation linking him with the vacant role at Chelsea.

Carlo Ancelotti was sacked by Roman Abramovich after the Blues ended the season in second position behind Manchester United, without any silverware in the trophy cabinet, but Redknapp insisted he is concentrating on developing his squad at White Hart Lane.

“I’ve got a great job at Tottenham,” he told Sky Sports.

“Things are going well for me.

“I have had a couple of great years it couldn’t have gone better for me there.

“I haven’t heard anything from Chelsea that’s for sure, no one has ever mentioned Chelsea to me.

“It’s not the first I have heard of it, someone said to me today your name got mentioned on TV, well I said I’ve never heard nothing at all so it’s all news to me.”

Redknapp also spoke positively about the success Ancelotti brought to Stamford Bridge in his two years at the club, and admitted he expected to see the Italian back in high level European management in the near future.

“Carlo’s a great guy,” he added.

“To win the double last season like he did, he showed he was a fantastic manager.

“And at AC Milan too. I think there will be a lot of big clubs in for him, for sure.”
