Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has heaped praise on Russian hitman Roman Pavlyuchenko, saying that the striker showed what he was all about with his two goals in Sunday’s 2-1 win over Birmingham City.
Pavlyuchenko, a crowd favourite at White Hart Lane, stepped off the bench just before half-time for the injured Peter Crouch and struck his 13th and 14th goals (from limited starts) of an up-and-down campaign for the 29-year-old.
“Pav took his goals well and he’s always likely to do that, he’s a great striker of the ball – He’s got so much ability” said Spurs boss Redknapp to the clubs official website.
“You watch him in training every day, his movement, his finishing, he’s top-drawer. He’s a good lad, comes in and works hard and he’s so laid back.
“He can play, he’s a good player. He’s got dynamite in his boots, like his goals, he can do that – 25 yards and bang. He’s got that ability. He’s a clever mover as well.”
