Mogadishu — At least one civilian person was slain and 5 others injured after Somali government forces joined by AMISOM troops and shabaab battled in the seaside capital Mogadishu on Saturday.
Witnesses and local residents said that the warring two sides have used both heavy and light during the confrontations.
Most of the fighting took place in the districts of Hodan and Hodan where had been battle zones in the last two or three years.
Officials from the government told Shabelle that their forces had confiscated the junctions of Bakaara and Howlwadag near Mogadishu’s main market of Bakaara.
Calm is reported to have returned to Mogadishu battle zones right now.
