Nigeria: Siasia Invites 24 Against Argentina, Ethiopia – Drops Osaze

Abuja — Super Eagles Coach Samson Siasia finally unveiled his list of 24 players for the June 1st and 5th ties against Argentina and Ethiopia respectively but without Nigeria’s hottest commodity in England this season, Osaze Odemwegie.

The Westbromwich Albion star forward, according to Siasia, was left out for walking out on the team without explanation last February.

“I am happy he is doing well for his club but when he left the camp last time he did not tell anybody where he was going. I want to believe he is still in transit; maybe he will come back to tell us. Sinec then he has not called to tell us why he left or where he left”

Stressing the need for discipline in the super eagles, the former national forward maintained the issue is not about one player but the success of the entre team.

It is not the first time Osaze had a brush with Siasia. At the finals of the Beijing Olympic football event Osaze was dropped over a burst up the coach considered to be out of tune.

Siasia however stuck to his three regular keepers Vincent Enyeama, Dele Aiyenugba and Austin Ejde while the defense saw the return Al Hilal of sudan right back Yusuf Mohammed and Ukraine based Yusuf Ayinla.

Others are home boy Chibuzo Okonkwo,Taye aiwo,Joseph Yobo,Dele Adeleye and Efe Ambrose.

The midfield saw the return to the national side of turkey based Isaac Promise, Nosa Igiebor (Norway) Nnamdi Oduamadi, Fegor Ogunde, Uche Kalu, Joel Obi and Mikel Obi.

The attackers include U-20 sensation Ahmed Musa,Victor Anichebe,Peter Utaka, Obinna Nsofor,Ikechukwu Uche, Emmanuel Emenike and power horse Ekigho Ehiosu.

Siasia explained that the duo of Shola Ameobi and Victor Moses will be on standby pending when the NFA concludes ongoing discussion between them and England FA/FIFA towards their final release

The players are expected to be in camp latest May 30 ahead of the Argentina clash.
