Nigeria defeated hard-fighting Tanzania on Thursday in South Africa by six runs in its final match at the ICC-Africa APL T20 Division 2 tournament played Sahara Park, Willowmore.
By that feat, Nigeria won the week-long tournament and was consequently promoted to Division 1.
Nigeria batted first and scored 150 runs for 5 in 20 overs.
Tanzania chased the total till the last over as they scored 146 for 3 in 20 overs.
Nigeria is expected to participate at the ICC-Africa APL T20 Division 1 coming up mid-July in Entebe, Uganda and ICC WCL Division 6 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in September.
The victorious team that has been outside the country for four weeks is due back today. They are expected to arrive the Murtala International Airport in a South Africa Airways flight 7.30 pm.
