It was celebration time in Manchester last Saturday as United won the championship for a record 19th time. However, it was not only in Manchester where ardent United fans celebrated their victory.
Ajathu Pub in Matero hosted Afunika, Chikowise and the dancing queens for the show dubbed Manchester United Victory party.
Football fans from across Lusaka City converged at the joint to watch the two Manchester clubs – Blackburn Rovers vs Manchester United and Manchester City vs Stoke City, in which both teams won.
Fresh from the Easter tour of South Africa and Namibia, the two artistes put up a spirited performance that has never been seen from them of late. Afunika recruited a new dancing queen and she was an amazing character to watch.
She fitted well in the system and patrons didn’t even know that she was new in the band but instead enjoyed her waist gyrating dances.
Not only was the attention on the tartly dressed dancers but also on the Tefumo Lyandi singer, who together with his backup Chikowise, performed some dances that sent the patrons agog.
The revelers most of them in Man U replicas were on their feet during the entire party that also saw a few supporters of other teams join the celebrations.
