Chief Mine Surveyor: Newmont Ghana Gold Limited

Newmont Ghana Gold Limited a subsidiary of Newmont Mining Corporation, one of the World’s largest gold mining companies.

The successful candidate will manage the Survey Department at the Akyem open pit mine and provide survey control and supervise other Newmont contract surveyors

• Perform all surveying functions including use of GPS systems, mine design software, spreadsheets and word processors
• Implement training programs for surveyor and evaluate employee performance
• Assist with engineering functions such as dump designs and earthworks during project start up
• Work closely with Mine Engineers, Operation supervisors, Drill and Blast supervisor, Geologist to carry out the job
• Supervisor the daily tasks of surveyors

Required Skills or Experience

• A Bachelor degree in Geodectic/Geomatic Survey
• Experience with MineSight software is preferred
• Survey license is preferred but willingness to acquire acceptable
• Supervisory role in previous job required
• Good interpersonal skills required
