Emmanuel Adebayor‘s agent, Darren Dean, has met with Real Madrid chiefs to discuss the striker’s future, according to AS.

The Spanish club are said to have expressed an interest in retaining the 27-year-old, who is on loan from Manchester City, but they are not prepared to meet the player’s £14.1 million transfer fee.

Coach Jose Mourinho admires the Togo hitman and has been impressed with his contribution since arriving in January.

Dean and Madrid officials have discussed terms, and in addition to a stalemate over his valuation, Adebayor also wants to be guaranteed regular playing time.

However, the former Arsenal man has also been linked with several Premier League sides as City look unlikely to retain the forward’s services next season.
