Kampala — Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) subjected Victors to their third defeat at the hands of the tax collectors this season to lay claim to the title of champions-elect of the 2010/11 Ecobank Super League season.

Striker Robert Ssentongo netted the campaign’s quickest goal on 40 seconds before Dan Wagaluka grabbed the winner on 69 minutes. Victors’ Obed Mayanja had equalised for the visitors on 57 minutes. URA have virtually clinched the title but for mathematics, the inevitable can only be delayed.

This is because second half strikes from Andy Ssekayombya and substitute Kamada Ndiefi rescued all three points for KCC after Express had taken the lead on 17 minutes through Yusuf Juuko.

Bunnamwaya, the only other side that had a mathematical chance of jostling for the gong, had their hopes obliterated by a second half goal from Simba’s Robert Nakyenarire as Fred Kajoba’s side registered a 1-0 home victory in Bombo. KCC’s Sekayombya levelled with a header after goalie Godfrey Wakabu had let in a tame cross from Express’ right back Juuko. (Andrew Mwanguhya)
