Salomon Kalou unconcerned about Carlo Ancelotti’s Chelsea future: It does not matter who the boss is

Chelsea striker Salomon Kalou remained quiet on manager Carlo Ancelotti‘s future at Stamford Bridge, saying the players are “happy to work with anyone”.

The Italian boss has been subjected to speculation about his future at the club, but Kalou refused to be drawn into the matter, insisting that it was nothing to do with him.

“We don’t make the decision. We’re here to play for the club,” Kalou told Sky Sports.

“We’re happy to work with anyone. That’s for the board to decide. The players are going to give their best on the pitch and that’s the most important thing.”

Kalou, who has struggled to cement his place in the side, scored the winner against Tottenham last month to set up a title decider with Manchester United, but scarcely celebrated, which many believe was due to Ancelotti’s decision to drop him to the bench for that match in favour of out-of-form Fernando Torres.

The Ivorian revealed that he is not concerned about who is in charge of the team.

“It doesn’t matter. For me, the most important thing is to stay as a team,” he added.

“Last year, we won the double and it was all the team.

“This year, if we don’t win any competition, it’ll be the same. I’m not looking for an excuse. It doesn’t matter which players or who is the manager, the players have to be together and give a better performance.”
