Luanda — Madagascar’s President, Andry Rajoelina, on Tuesday here said his visit to Angola is aimed to meet with the Angolan Head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, and request political support, ANGOP has learnt.
“We came to call for Angola’s support to put an end to the political crisis in Madagascar”, he said, reminding that the same crisis started in 2009.
The President that was speaking to the press shortly after his arrival in Luanda, for a visit of some hours, added that currently Madasgarcar is going through a stabilisation process and there is interest in holding elections.
This interest in holding elections, he said, impelled him to talk with the international community, mainly Angola, that is a member of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC).
The visiting President also said that he seizes the occasion to seek possible opportunity for commercial exchange between the two countries.
