Sandu Chief Testifies in Court

Urr — Jun Bah, the chief of Sandu District in Upper River Region (URR) yesterday appeared before Emmanuel Nkea of the Basse High Court to testify in an ongoing murder trial of one Balla Sabally, who is charged with murder contrary to the Laws of The Gambia.

According to the particulars of offence, the accused in June, 2007 unlawfully caused the death of one Modibo Keita in Sandu District. Testifying before the court, Chief Bah told the court that it was in June 2007 that the accused came to him and told him that he has killed one Modibo Keita, who he accused of always sleeping with his wife, Juma Bah.

He told the court that he then called the then commissioner of Police in URR to inform him about the case. He said the following morning, the accused was handed over to the police in Basse. Chief Bah finally told the court that since then he has not got any information about the case.
