Over half of Goal.com readers vote Didier Drogba as Chelsea’s Player of the Season

With the 2010/11 Premier League season reaching its conclusion, Goal.com asked readers to vote for Chelsea’s player of the season.

After much discussion it was agreed that Ashley Cole, Didier Drogba and Branislav Ivanovic were Chelsea’s standout players, with Goal.com’s writers deciding that the Ivorian deserved the honour.

Goal.com then opened the vote out to its readers to see who they believed should be named as the club’s player of the season.

A large majority of 53.02 per cent agreed with Goal.com and believed that the talismanic forward was Chelsea’s best performer.

Serbian defender Ivanovic, who scored in his side’s 2-2 at home to Newcastle, came second in the poll with 28.13%.

Finally Cole, who has enjoyed another impressive season as the club’s left-back, came third with 18.85%.
