A 13-year-old standard seven pupil collapsed after completing a 3,000m race during the Teso North base athletics competition at Amagoro Primary school grounds.The Adurukoit Primary School pupil ran the eight lap race on bare foot finishing among the top 10. But soon after crossing the finish line she collapsed. The school head teacher, Dismas Nabie rushed the girl to Kocholia district hospital where doctors battled to resuscitate her. Nabie said the incident was regrettable, adding that the pupils had trained for over a week ahead of the games. Doctors said the girl was out of danger and could have fainted owing to fatigue.
