Werder Bremen midfielder Marko Marin has revealed that he is not thinking about leaving the club, despite interest from several teams abroad, with Liverpool the most recently linked.
“I do not intend to go in the summer. In Bremen, I can develop myself, and I like the team, with which I will return in the new season and play good football,” the 22-year-old told 11Freunde.
Marin’s current contract expires in 2013, but due to Werder’s dismal 2010-11 campaign, there have been rumours suggesting the winger could be tempted to move abroad.
On Friday, he confirmed that Liverpool were interested in his services, but his most recent comments seem to indicate his intent to stay.
Werder spent much of the season flirting with relegation before finishing 13th in the Bundesliga. Marin experienced a slump in mid-season but improved late in the campaign and ended with three goals and 11 assists in 34 matches.
In addition to Liverpool, AC Milan have also been linked with the Germany international.
