Ex-Ghana FA boss Nyaho Tamakloe has hailed the decision of a Human Rights Court to impose a 50,000 Ghana cedi fine on the country’s anti-graft agency for raiding the offices of the Ghana Football Association last year.
The Economic and Organized Crime Organization raided the offices of the Ghana FA in December last year by carting away computers, documents and other files claiming it was investigating financial malfeasance within the GFA.
The move which has heavily criticized nearly incurred the wrath of World governing body, Fifa.
The ruling by Justice Peter Derry on Friday has vindicated the position of the Ghana Football Association and the ex-GFA Capo is thrilled with the final verdict.
”It should serve them right and whoever instructed them to do what they did should bow down their heads in shame,” Tamakloe said.
”We said it from the beginning that EOCO didn’t have the mandate or the authority to investigate internal generated monies and some thought it was political talk. Now we’re all been told by the court that indeed they have overstepped their boundaries.”
EOCO says they will appeal the decision.
