Eight players are believed to be in line to leave West Ham United if the club are relegation from the Premier League.

The Hammers are currently bottom of the table after picking up just 33 points from 36 games this season. And with 17th-placed Birmingham City being six points ahead with two games to go – with a superior goal difference – the club could be relegated on Sunday.

Now The Mirror reports that should the east London club be sent down into the Championship, eight important players including Scott Parker will leave.

The Football Writers’ Player of the Year has remained coy about his future, recently saying: “I’m like every player, I want to be playing at the highest level I can and in the Premier League.

“I don’t know what the future holds for me but, for the moment, I’m still keeping everything crossed that West Ham stay up.”

Hammers co-owner David Gold has already begun to make plans for relegation, and hopes that the club would be able to return to the top-flight the very next season.

“We are confident that we put together a good squad in the event that we are relegated,” he said.

“We are not relegated yet, we have two games to go but I want to assure our fans so they know that in the event that the worst comes to the worst that we will do everything in our power to ensure we come straight back.”
