Fulham manager Mark Hughes revealed doubts over the fitness of Bobby Zamora and Simon Davies ahead of his side’s tie against Birmingham City.

The Cottagers travel to St Andrew’s Sunday already comfortable in mid-table at 11th place on 45 points while their opponents will be desperate to win at home to avoid relegation.

It looks like the London club could be without their best striker as the Welshman revealed to his club’s official website.

“Bobby didn’t complete training on Friday because he was suffering from soreness in his groin,” Hughes said. “We pulled him out of training as a precaution and we’re hopeful that will settle down and he’ll be able to train on Saturday.

“Simon Davies got a kick on his calf against Liverpool and there was localised bleeding so he hasn’t trained since the match.

“Having worked him with the physiotherapists on Friday we’re hopeful that as long as the area doesn’t bleed he’ll have a chance this weekend.”

Hughes however had some good news to offer about the fitness of his Hungarian midfielder Zoltan Gera.

“Zolly has missed a couple of weeks training but he’s back now, he’s trained and he’s fit, so he should be okay for Sunday.”
