New York — The minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology, Maria Cândida Teixeira, will present this Friday at the Headquarters of the United Nations (UN), in New York, the project of Excellence Centre of Applied Sciences for Sustainability in Africa (CESSAF), which is to be set up in Luanda.
This centre is intended to improve the promotion of education and research of Earth Sciences in the African continent.
The CESSAF, which has the partnership of the Planet Earth Institute, counts on the sponsorship of the Espírito Santo Angola Bank (Besa) and the scientific support of the universities Agostinho Neto (Angola) and New Castle (England).
The presentation will take place during the High Level Meeting of the Planet Earth Institute, to happen in the ambit of the 19th session of the UN’s Commission for Sustainable Development.
Angola’s bid to host the mentioned centre was presented on 18 February this year, at the headquarters of UNESCO in Paris, France.
